Julio César Castañeda Acosta

Profile

Lawyer from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a specialization in European and Spanish Competition Law from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles in Madrid, and a specialization in Contract Law from Externado. He brings over nine years of public-sector experience, having served as Competition Protection Coordinator and as Deputy Superintendent for Competition Protection at the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC). He also served as Deputy Director for Surveillance and Control at the National Spectrum Agency (ANE). In the private sector, he was an associate at Esguerra Barrera Arriaga. He has taught competition law for nine years at Universidad Javeriana, Universidad del Rosario, Externado and Sergio Arboleda. He was part of the team that led the defense in the largest fiscal liability case ever brought against the City of Bogotá (CGR vs. UAESP).
